Robocon Stories.

Robocon has been an important part of my university life. I spent 3 seasons working for this team and evovled my technical, communication as well as leadership skills. 

Every evening I used to wait for clock to hit 6 pm, when we used to open the lab, brainstorm on different possible solutions for the problem statement. The long marathon of fabricating and programming the robots felt easy when the whole team looked towards the common aim of representing the Team India!

What attracted me to robocon the most is the varying problem statement each year, challenging me and my team to think out of the box & unique solutions  to solve the tasks at ease.

The bot is a 25kg machine featuring 4 wheel holonomic drive, a Nylon Flywheel shooter (8m range @ 14000rpm) powered using H700 BLDC motor, an impact absorbing ball catching mechanism, a ball picking, a dunking mechanism using pneumatics and dribble mechanism.

The bot is able to i. Catch, ii. Throw, iii. Dribble, iv. Dunk and v. Autonomously Pass from one bot to other.

The bot is controlled using a PS5 controller interfaced to Raspi pico MCU, via Rasp. Pi. The bot operates using ROS and involves various sensors viz. Free Wheel Encoders, Limit Switches, Camera, Color Sensors, Proximity Sensors and IMU.

25 KG 2v2 Basket Ball Robot for ABU Robocon 2025 hosted by Mongolia

Developed a pair of autonomous and semi-autonomous robots to execute precise manipulation tasks within a defined arena. Key objectives included seedling picking and placement, grain harvesting, and the identification and storage of empty and filled sacks. The latter task was entirely automated; the autonomous bot leveraged a Jetson Nano to process multi-sensor data and live camera feeds for real-time sack identification and tracking.
